Dave is the band's chairman and started playing age 13 with the air
cadets. He has subsequently played with
South Glamorgan Youth Brass Band, Melingriffith Band, Cross Keys,
Blaenavon Town and Upper Rhondda
When asked about his family Dave replied ....
“Yes, I have family and they’re robbing me blind!”
When asked about employment he says..
“Yes......but the family are spending my wages faster than I am
earning”.
His says his favourite piece is his Wife (oh isn’t that nice) and he
doesn’t have a least favourite.
Dave says “They’re all lovely really” – (not sure if he's still talking
about wives or music!).
Dave says his proudest banding moment is looking in the mirror every
time he walks in the band room.
His most embarrassing moment was marching in front of a parade and
going the wrong way.
Dave says “As the music around me became quieter, I looked around and
found I was on my own!”
