Vale of Glamorgan Brass Band

Vale of Glamorgan Brass Band

Over forty years of bringing brass music to the Vale and surrounding areas

Welcome to the Vale of Glamorgan Brass Band website. Originally established in 1974 the band has been performing in the Vale and surrounding areas for over 40 years. Located in the sea-side town of Barry, the band is fortunate to have the support of Barry Athletic Club and we rehearse weekly in our own practice room at their facilities on Barry Island.

Dan Dennis is our  MD

Dan is currently Principal Trombone of Taff Vale Brass Band and is also the Musical Director of Severn Tunnel Brass Band. He studies with BBC NOW’s Donal Bannister at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he has directed the RepCo Choir and Big Band. Dan is fortunate to be under the sackbut tutelage of Emily White of the English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble and to have had the opportunity of working with Jeremy West. Performance venues include: Budapest- Vigado Concert Hall; Cardiff- St David’s Hall; London- The Royal Albert Hall; New York- Carnegie Hall.
